British Airways at Gatwick

Head for Points has produced a fine review of British Airways' revised activities at Gatwick. During the peak of the pandemic there was talk of the airline walking away from the South London airport.

BT Tower to become a hotel

Don’t rush to make a booking, but the BT Tower, a London landmark since 1965, is to re-open as a hotel.  No opening date has been given for the 620ft structure which dominates the landscape south of the Euston Road.

Eastern Airlines secures Charles de Gaulle slots

Working in conjunction with Air France/KLM, Humberside Airport based Eastern Airlines will for the summer season (starts 31 March) switch to the Air France main hub at Charles de Gaulle from its current Paris Orly flights from East Midlands and Southampton airports.

Flights to Israel

El Al continues to fly twice daily (except Saturday) from Heathrow to Tel Aviv and also Luton. Availability in Economy is limited and expensive unless booked far ahead.

Gatwick to recruit apprentices

South London’s Gatwick Airport has launched an engineering apprenticeship programme for this year, with applications now open. You will have to be quick with a closing date of 4 March 2024. 

Global Airlines

In this day and age of advanced technology it is difficult to keep a secret.  Global Airlines has taken to the sky for the first time, as spotted by Flightradar 24.

Guernsey to Europe via LCY

Aurigny is to launch twice daily flights to London City Airport (LCY) from Guernsey on 31 March.  The route will provide a London alternative to the airline’s current operations via Gatwick and Stansted.

Heathrow to Paris Orly

IAG’s Vueling will arrive at Heathrow Terminal 4 on 7 April.
