Making a return to the aviation extravaganza diary is the Paris Air Show at its traditional Le Bourget home, Monday 19 June, until the following Sunday.
Claimed to be the world’s oldest air show, and vying with Farnborough (in alternative years) as the largest it was first held in 1909. The 53rd Air Show in 2019 attracted 2,453 exhibitors from 49 countries and occupied in excess of 125,000 square metres.
The show is more than a display of the latest civil aircraft and military hardware, but a gathering of all aspects of the aerospace industry and a major networking opportunity.
The show will not feature the Russian industry this year.
Airbus and Boeing will vie for order announcements, but in spite of the highly broadcast signing ceremonies the deals would have been done in the many months leading up to the show.
Traditionally the President of France opens the show but it is rumoured that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy might be offered the honour. In 1989, the now destroyed Antonov An-225, the world’s largest aircraft, was the star of Paris.
