World Aviation Festival

It may be a long way off but the World Aviation Festival is already building up momentum for its ‘Summit Day’, Tuesday 26 September. The main conference and exhibition, 27-28 September, this year will be at the Lisbon Exhibition and Congress Centre on the Tegus river waterfront.  It is still the holiday season in Lisbon and an early hotel booking is recommended.

The key speaker at the gathering will be Emirates President Sir Tim Clark, who by that time may have announced his retirement date, having been involved with the setting up of the airline in 1985, and President since 2003.  Controversially the airline still flies from Dubai to Moscow, Clark saying it is a government decision and not his.

Unlike other aviation gatherings the World Aviation Festival features people, not aircraft and is as much a networking event as a long list, and a variety of presentations, by up to 500 personages.  Based on last year’s Amsterdam gathering the attendance is expected to be around 5,000 covering all aspects of the industry.

At this time the Aviation Festival Asia 2023 is taking place at Suntec Singapore (ends 1 March 2023) and 16-17 May 2023 sees the Aviation Festival Americas at Miami Beach Convention Centre.
