Loganair has hailed government approval for its Heathrow flights under Public Service Obligation flights and calls it a ‘game changer’ for regional connectivity.
Approval was granted from the Transport Secretary, with flights into Heathrow’s Terminal 2 beginning from 6 May. This will be the first ever link between Derry and Heathrow. It also marks the first Dundee flights into Heathrow in almost 40 years.
Travellers from Orkney and Shetland also stand to benefit as through services via Dundee will fly into Heathrow from 7 May.
Jonathan Hinkles, Loganair’s Chief Executive, said: “This is a milestone moment for Loganair – and indeed for regional connectivity.”
The services were previously operated into London City, for Dundee, and Stansted with the Derry flights. Both are twice daily weekdays plus a Sunday service. Please see a visit to Derry, via Loganair.
