World Aviation Festival

The date will come around very quickly as the 2023 World Aviation Festival looms up.

The show has moved on from Amsterdam and this year will be held at the FIL-Lisbon exhibition and congress centre 26–28 September.  It may be the last time to hear Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates, in a major forum before his much-heralded (but no date confirmed at the time of writing) retirement.

Four hundred speakers are promised over the three days covering every aspect of commercial air travel.  

The conference agenda lists 20 subjects, including for the first time “AI in aviation”.

The keynote opening day presentation (timed for 12:55) brings together Jiri Marek, CEO, Air Serbia; Andre Viljoen, CEO, Fiji Airways; Maen Razouqi, CEO, Kuwait Airways; Stefanie Neumann, CEO, Lufthansa Systems; Anko van der Werff, CEO, SAS and Patrick Roux, CEO, SkyTeam.

UK readers will find TNU regular John Strickland very busy interviewing amongst others Josef Váradi, CEO, Wizz Air; Eddie Wilson, CEO, Ryanair; Jude Bricker, CEO, Sun Country of Minneapolis from the United States; Andrew Levy, CEO of Texas-based Avelo Airlines and also moderating a forum with Birgir Jonsson, CEO, Play Airlines of Iceland; Tero Taskila, CEO, Beond, a fourth quarter 2023 start-up from The Maldives; Bjorn Tore Larsen, CEO, Norse Atlantic and Jonathan Ayache, CEO, LIFT Airline, from South Africa.
