Will Heathrow this August greet the 7.6 million passengers that passed through in August 2019?It will not be far short. The omens look good and the airport is now far more efficient than before the pandemic.
Figures published for June of this year show that 7.042 million travellers passed through the airport, which compares favourably with 7.2 million for the same month in 2019.
Heathrow says service levels have been very high, with security queues under five minutes across all terminals and the Here to Help teams out in force.
The airport has also partnered with Mr Men Little Miss to create a mobile game to entertain young travellers at the airport over the summer holiday period. The game features Mr Adventure and Little Miss Explorer, characters created exclusively for Heathrow. It can be easily accessed by scanning a QR code which will be posted throughout the airport, with no downloads or sign-ups necessary. Heathrow staff will also be handing out free Mr Men colouring packs and stickers to families throughout the airport this summer.
