It may not be quite Ascot but the Head for Points frequent flyer summer party is fast becoming the event to be seen at for the travel industry. Organiser Rob Burgess says that he has a problem with forward planning due to Euro 24. “But for next June we will sort it out”.
One thing for sure. It’s not a fashion turn out. Some wore suits, but on a lovely sunny evening, shorts were much seen!Again the venue was the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, and its splendid Hanson Hall and Terrace, once the railway dropping off point for the horse drawn carriages named after its creator Joseph Hansom, an architect from York. This year the party was sponsored by SeatSpy who brought some smart branding for the bar and stage area.
Total turnout was over 500 with Malaysia Airways heading the list of raffle prize donations with a pair of Business Class tickets to Kuala Lumper.
Intended for Head for Points readers it attracted travel trade guests and media, and on hand were representatives from Accor, Aer Lingus, Air Astana, American Express, ANA, British Airways, Barclaycard, Capital On Tap, Cathay Pacific, Collinson, Currensea, DragonPass, Emirates, Etihad, Eurostar, Expedia, Global Airlines, Heathrow Express, Heathrow Rewards, Hilton, Hyatt, IAG Loyalty, IHG, London City Airport, Malaysia Airlines, Marriott, Nectar, Norse Atlantic, Plaza Premium, points.com, Priority Pass, Qatar Airways, trip.com, United Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Red, Virgin Voyages, Vistara, Wheely and Wizz.
The party ran from 18:00 to 21:00, but some stayed on. To when we don’t know!
