Isle of Man - Jersey trial flights

November and December will see Blue Islands airline trialling direct flights between Jersey and the Isle of Man.  Flown by a 68-seat ATR 72 the sector length at 1hr 45mins is the longest non-stop flight within the British Isles.

The five-week trial will operate Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 November until 7 December.

Flying from Guernsey the aircraft’s first leg is a ten-minute sector to Jersey, followed by a short period on the ground, and then the long 105-minute flight to Ronaldsway Airport, Isle of Man.  Thirty minutes has been allowed for a turnaround.  The service is twice daily using two aircraft from the five strong Blue Islands fleet.

Rob Veron, CEO, Blue Islands, said: “We’re excited to trial direct flights to the Isle of Man. Through surveys and discussions with key businesses in each island we have some insights into the likely market requirement. The next stage in assessing the viability of such services is this five-week trial”.

The short sector between the two Channel islands is also open for passenger and freight sales in either direction.
