There is a new Westminster aviation minister following the recent government reshuffle.
Anthony Browne (56) is the new Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Transport, appointed to cover aviation, transport decarbonization and related areas.
He was elected to Parliament in 2019 as the member for South Cambridgeshire after a successful career in journalism, think-tanks, London politics and public affairs.
Clearly planning ahead, he will contest the new seat of St Neots and Mid-Cambridgeshire at the next General Election as boundary changes will make his current constituency more vulnerable to a Liberal Democrat challenge.
Browne reports to Mark Jones, who has quickly made his mark as Minister for Transport since his appointment with the new Rishi Sunak government in October 2022.
The junior ministers in the Department following the latest government reshuffle are Huw Merriman, who served as a successful Chairman of the Select Transport Committee, and now looks after rail; Lord (Byron) Davies of Gower responsible for maritime matters and Guy Opperman has taken on public transport and roads.
