Worried whether your booked train will operate? Unlike with airlines when you can easily check with a particular carrier on its flight details, and strikes are rare, with the railways it is far more complex, and delays are a regular feature, whether by industrial action by train staff, or technical difficulties with the actual rail track.
The biggest problem is that in the mainland United Kingdom there are 30 separate train operators and whilst there is an update available as noted below many journeys require a change of operator, which often complicates matters.
If you are using Transport for London trains it is far easier with just a single integrated website for all services including the Elizabeth Line.
National Rail is the brand name of passenger rail services operated in Great Britain.
Network Rail was known as Railtrack before 2002 and is infrastructure manager of most of the railway network in Great Britain. In May 2021, the Government announced its intent to replace Network Rail in 2023 with a new public body called Great British Railways. Whilst in the King’s Speech, when this will happen remains fluid with no firm date set.

I for one have given up with the trains. If it is not the rail unions stopping the services, then it is technology. Back to planes for Scotland and a car or coach for The North for me.
