For the aviation industry networking fraternity the next couple of months are going to be busy.Starting with Airlines UK, comprising all the British airlines bar Anglo/Hungarian Wizz Air. The annual conference of the trade body is Tuesday 27 February at the Hilton Waldorf on Aldwych, London WC2B 4DD.
The British Business and General Aviation Association (BBGA) annual conference and AGM takes place 7 March and is adding the thriving sports travel business as a discussion topic. Once again at the Leonardo Royal St Paul’s Hotel, London EC4V 5AJ, it proved ideal last year with direct rail services via City Thameslink from Luton, London’s busiest General Aviation airport. Heathrow arrivals should take the Elizabeth Line to Farringdon and walk. Gatwick is also on Thameslink. Anthony Browne, Aviation Minister since 2019, once a journalist with the BBC and The Times, is a confirmed speaker.
Finally the Airport Operators Association (AOA) Tuesday 19 March, once again at the Grosvenor House Park Lane, London W1K 7TN. It will be its 90th anniversary. New to the event might well be Thomas Woldbye, CEO, Heathrow, since October 2023, and we could see the yet to be named replacement for Robert Sinclair at London City Airport.
