Colindale Station closures.Attendance at the Royal Air Force Museum London will be affected from June until the end of the year by the closure of the nearby Colindale Northern line station.
Sited just a half mile walk from the TfL station the museum would be expected to attract over half a million visitors in a normal year.
Located with easy access from the A41 arterial road, and with a large car park, entry is free to the popular exhibition site once called London International Airport in the times before WWI. Its major collection includes two famous Avro bombers, a Lancaster and Vulcan.
During the closure customers are advised to take local buses from nearby Northern line stations at Burnt Oak and Hendon Central, or to Kingsbury for the Jubilee line. Thameslink rail services at Mill Hill Broadway and Hendon stations are also an alternative.
Users of the Golders Green to Edgware branch, which includes Colindale, will also be disrupted in April, and in three consecutive weekends during June. Saturday 8th, and Saturday 27 – Sunday 28 July.
During the track closures, temporary bus services will run between Golders Green station and Canons Park (to provide access to Jubilee line services) with stops near Brent Cross station, at Hendon Central, Colindale, Burnt Oak, Canons Park and Edgware stations. Southbound service to and from Golders Green will not be affected.
