Working in conjunction with Air France/KLM, Humberside Airport based Eastern Airlines will for the summer season (starts 31 March) switch to the Air France main hub at Charles de Gaulle from its current Paris Orly flights from East Midlands and Southampton airports.Introduced in 2023 the swap coincides with the summer 2024 Olympics and Paralympics as France becomes the sporting focus of the world in the coming months. The single flights in both directions are daily but do not operate on a Saturday. They are flown by a single class 72-seat ATR 72 turboprop.
“We are delighted to be extending this cooperation with Air France and opening wider connectivity to Europe’s second biggest city for both business and leisure travellers. The first year has seen strong demand and notable growth throughout, which given the significance of Paris and France hosting the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics, the welcome move to Charles de Gaulle will help improve direct access year-round to France including Disneyland Paris”, says Roger Hage, Commercial Director, Eastern Airways.
The airline has cancelled its Cardiff – Orly route at the end of the month citing “slot problems”.
