Geneva spotlights next-gen types

Several all-new regional / advanced air mobility, aircraft will debut at the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition 2024 (EBACE) Geneva 28–30 May.

EBACE is co-hosted by the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA).

France's VoltAero’s Cassio 330 hybrid-electric aircraft, previously seen at the Paris Air Show last June, leads a cluster of newcomers presenting in the Innovation Pavilion and in the outdoor static display.  The Cassio 330 will be joined by German electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft original equipment manufacturer (eVTOL OEM) Lilium; French hydrogen-electric bizjet developer Beyond Aero, and Netherlands' electric regional aircraft OEM Electron.  Germany's Vaeridion is bringing its all-electric Microliner.  California-based Hydroplane will also showcase the hydrogen fuel cells it is developing to power various aircraft types.

“Innovation is always front and centre at EBACE”, noted Rachel Clementi, conference and innovation lead at EBAA. “There's no better example of game-changing innovation underway in business aviation than the advent of electric, hybrid, and hydrogen propulsion systems for aircraft".

Editor's note: In unfortunate timing, EBACE this year coincides with the equally popular Aircraft Interiors (AIX) Show in Hamburg.  This show has been progressively moving back to its original April outing, since Covid pushed it back to June.
