UK Airports Health and safety week

Still trading as the Airport Operators Association (AOA – It becomes Airports UK later in the year) the UK airports trade association is heavily engaged in promoting its Health & Safety Week 2024.

This takes place on Monday 13 – Sunday 19 May and follows the amazing success of 2023’s week, which saw airports up and down the country organise nature walks, airfield tours, trips up air traffic towers, rescue and fire service demonstrations, and a range of other events.

Commenting on the launch, Karen Dee, Chief Executive of the AOA, said: “The health and safety of passengers, staff and local communities is the number one priority of airports, screening travellers, providing a healthy, safe workplace, and ensuring residents are protected. Airports Health and Safety Week is a chance to showcase everything airports and their partners do every day of the year to make sure this is the case, and that UK aviation is the safest in the world.

“We cannot wait to see what airports have in store to highlight this year’s themes, which represent vital day-to-day considerations when working in aviation, with consequences that can reach well into the future. We hope that everyone has an enjoyable and safe week, and that people come away from it with a better understanding of how they can ‘save tomorrow with safety today.’"
