If you want to drop your luggage off the night before you travel Edinburgh Airport is offering free car park access. Called the “Twilight bag drop service” the plan is to encourage travellers not to check in luggage on the day of travel.
Passengers with a car park booking in official Edinburgh Airport car parks will also be able to access the 1hr parking area for free the night before travel.
The trial of this facility will be assessed throughout the summer schedule to determine next steps.
Customers with existing bookings will be able to take advantage of the free area, while customers yet to make bookings will be informed of the free parking area in their confirmation emails.
The Twilight offering means passengers on early morning flights can head straight to security on the day of travel.
Four airlines are offering the service:

Adam Wilson, Chief Operating Officer at Edinburgh Airport, said: “We’ve worked with airlines to extend days and hours of operation where possible, and we hope that benefits passengers who have those early morning flights and want to head straight to security on the morning of their flight.
“We’re also trialling free Twilight parking for customers with official Edinburgh Airport car park bookings to encourage more people to use the service. That will be kept under constant evaluation to judge the effectiveness of it and to determine the next steps for the Twilight bag drop service.”
The 1hr parking area is accessible via the surface car park.
The Twilight service is free to use.
