The Government has set a deadline of June 2024 for most UK airports to install new high-tech 3D scanners that show more detailed images of baggage. These scanners are already being gradually installed, typically Heathrow T4, where it is no longer a requirement for electronic items to be placed in a separate receptacle.
Since 2006 – when UK authorities warned they had thwarted a terror plot to smuggle explosives onto flights using drinks bottles – gels and liquids for carry-on, including sun cream, toothpaste, and body wash, have been required to be 100ml maximum, and also kept inside a clear plastic bag.

I totally agree with this COMMENT. A new rule for belts can be introduced overnight. The government did just that for Chinese flights. The present rule is daft.
