This stark message has arrived from Amazon.
“You are receiving this email as a current or past user of the EE Calls with Alexa service. Starting today, you can no longer make or receive calls using your EE mobile service on Alexa-enabled devices or contact emergency services using the service”.
We were warned just before Christmas in a case of burying bad news.
It is certainly more than an inconvenience for us, but for some elderly, blind, and disabled people, it is life-changing. In an age of added “accessibility” it is a complete disgrace. Amazon's once good name for service is now very much in doubt (it sells knives to anyone over the internet!) and clearly EE’s 11-year run as a top supplier will now come to an end.
Amazon is blaming EE, and EE says it is Amazon. I gather social media is picking up the story. There are many users out there!
