Carlton Cannes for IHG

One of the world’s most prestigious hotels, the Carlton Cannes, will re-open in the spring after a two-year multi-million Euro redevelopment as an IHG Regent hotel.

Originally opened in 1911 the hotel has featured in a number of famous films, including the Peter Sellers/Goldie Hawn comedy There's a Girl in My Soup and more recently (2019) Rocketman with Elton John. It has been a feature of the Cannes Film Festival since its inception just before WWII and hosted all the greats of Hollywood from that time.

The present owner and developer is Katara Hospitality an award-winning Qatar-based global hotel developer and operator with over 50 years of experience in luxury hospitality.

The Carlton Cannes will have 332 rooms and 37 branded residences, designed by revered French interior designer Tristan Auer. The grand-scale renovation programme skilfully preserves the hotel’s historic features, including its legendary façade.

The epitome of elegance and the ‘Grande Dame’ of the hotel scene in Cannes, the property’s majestic Belle Epoque façade, framed by twin domes, occupies the frontage of an entire city block overlooking the prestigious beachfront promenade, La Croisette.
