Emerald Airlines, the exclusive operator of Aer Lingus Regional services, has commenced its largest ever summer programme.
The airline is progressively bolstering its 2023 schedule, with over 2.5 million seats on sale, across 30 routes in Ireland, UK, France and the Channel Islands.
Used on all services is the Italian/French ATR 72 turboprop, one of the most environmentally friendly aircraft in the skies today with a 72-seat 2+2 layout.
The prototype first flew in August 1984 with the first delivery in December 1985 to French airline Air Littoral, which failed in 2004. In its early days the ATR competed with the de Havilland Dash 8 series, but is now far ahead with 1600 plus deliveries and a strong order book.
