The summer season is really getting underway at Gatwick with four new route introductions.
The Canadian airline Westjet, based in the North Terminal, introduced on 29 April a four times weekly service to Halifax Nova Scotia on a Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday with a Boeing 737 Maxjet. St Johns Newfoundland started on1 May with Sunday, Wednesday and Friday, again with the Boeing Max and a two-class layout offering three rows of 2+2 up front (Premium), four rows 3+3 in what is termed ‘extended comfort’, and the balance 3+3.
Norwegian starts flying to Gothenburg on 2 May on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with a Boeing 737-800, and out of the South Terminal.
Making a return to Gatwick after some years the now privatised Air India with Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday flights to Bengaluru (Bangalore), flown by a two-class Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. The capital of Karnataka State in Southern India, the city is the third largest in India with a population of 12.3m.
